Life in Stillwater

As potential graduate students, it is important to know the culture of the city that you will live in. In short, Stillwater is home to people who think big and see endless possibilities. With a cost of living below the U.S. average, Stillwater is consistently ranked among the nation’s top small cities for quality of life. Stillwater residents benefit from great medical facilities, a vibrant downtown and quality shopping centers, numerous parks and recreational opportunities, and a wonderful public atmosphere. Because of the small town feel, we would suggest that you invest in a bicycle if you do not have a car.  Take a walk through a museum or experience the architecture of some of the historic buildings. Take an evening run around the various parks, including the rustic beauty of Lake McMurtry. Do you just need to unwind? Graduate Programs

The Programs of course work and research that the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics offer lead to the degrees of Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Students may elect either Microbiology or Cell and Molecular Biology within the M.S. and Ph.D. program.
