Your Advisor

A Message from your Advisor:

I am excited to serve the Microbiology Department at OSU! I graduated in 2018 with a Master’s in English from OSU, and then taught freshman composition courses as an adjunct instructor.

As an academic advisor, I place student success and empowerment as my highest priorities. All students who enter my office can expect to be listened to and treated with respect. Hopefully, students will also feel better equipped to meet their goals.

I encourage students to meet with me to discuss whatever issues they are experiencing— from post-graduation plans to academic difficulties or personal concerns. I intend to be a frequently used resource for our students as they navigate their college experience.

If you are not a current advisee, and do not see me in your online classroom list, please feel free to come see me in 406 Life Sciences East. If you are an incoming freshman, I teach the Arts and Sciences First Year Seminar for Microbiology Majors (A&S 1111) with visits from the departmental therapy dog, Chunk, and her handler, Dr. Conway, our department head. If you are interested in a career in medicine or research, the Microbiology section of A&S 1111 is a great way to meet the faculty and get to know the department.

I work with the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Ambassadors to showcase the abundance of success that the department has in its students as well as provide a source of information. The ambassador team can also be helpful with any questions that you might have over the course of the year.

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is ecstatic to have excellent students with a wide range of interests from medical school to law school, with dual majors ranging from biochemistry to foreign languages. We have a very active student body with members from the OSU Cheer, Cowboy Marching Band, OSU Equestrian, Pre-Vet, SGA, and many more organizations both on and off campus.
