Below you can find our three degree plans in accordance with the Finish in Four Initiative set by Oklahoma State University. If you are thinking about switching to a degree in microbiology, please contact our Undergraduate Advisor, Tyler George (tyler.george@okstate.edu), for more details. The degree sheets that are used for student graduation checks and advising appointments can be found in the second row of options.  Students are encouraged to print these off at their convenience to always have a record of courses taken for their degree.

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is committed to helping our students to be competitive for undergraduate and graduate awards and scholarships. Below are some of the scholarships that our students have received in the past. It is important to mention that these are not the only scholarships that a student can apply for. There are a variety of resources that can have information about scholarships and their application materials.

We in the Microbiology department strive to help our students get into the health field of their choice. There is no better preparation for professional school than a BS degree in Microbiology/Cell and Molecular Biology.

Undergraduate research is a major focus of OSU and the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Students involved in research within the department will reap various benefits from working in the laboratory (professionally, educationally, and personally). The Microbiology faculty also actively collaborate with members of the Departments of Integrative Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, and Nutritional Sciences. Majoring in microbiology will train you in the hottest area of biomedical science. We offer various fast track programs to our medical and veterinary schools.
