Your Advisor and Student Ambassadors

A Message from your Advisor:

Dana Hatter, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Oklahoma State University

"My number one goal is to help you reach your dreams and potential. I am keeping your student records up to date, so if you have a question about your courses at any point in your undergraduate career at OSU, feel free to consult with me and see what we can do. Private appointments can be made on star.okstate.edu or by emailing me. If you just have a single question, you are able, and encouraged, to drop by so we can talk, but we can have privacy if you request."

"My goal is that a student graduates as quickly and efficiently as possible. With proper planning, events like internships and study abroad programs can be integrated into a student’s degree without, or minimizing, the need for extra time, money, and classes."

Open Office Hours Fall 2018: M-F 9:30am-10:30am

If you are not a current advisee, and do not see me in your online classroom list, please feel free to come see me in 407 Life Sciences East. If you are an incoming freshman, I teach the Arts and Sciences First Year Seminar for Microbiology Majors (A&S 1111) with visits from the departmental therapy dog, Chunk, and her handler, the Department Head. If you are interested in a career in medicine or research, the Microbiology section of A&S 1111 is a great way to meet the faculty and get to know the department.

I work with the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Ambassadors to showcase the abundance of success that the department has in its students as well as provide a source of information. The ambassador team below can also be helpful with any questions that you might have over the course of the year.

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is ecstatic to have excellent students with a wide range of interests from medical school to law school, with dual majors ranging from biochemistry to foreign languages. We have a very active student body with members from the OSU Cheer, Cowboy Marching Band, OSU Equestrian, Pre-Vet, SGA, and many more organizations both on and off campus.
